ESPEER: a tool to help better apprehend the economy’s resources needs
The ESPEER project, also called « Physical Input Output including environmental extensions for a global management of resources » and funded by the ANR (French National Research Agency) has just been delivered.
Cycleco, which was in charge of developing the tool, has made a web application available to the public which allows to establish contact between the economic system with the resource consumption, the manufacturing of products, the generation of waste and pollution. The tool makes it possible to assess the impacts of the final consumption’s growth on the generation of waste and the resource consumption in a waste management policy context which advocates recycling. A methodological guide is also made available on the application’s home page.
The project’s partners are: BRGM, Laboratoire de Génie Chimique de Toulouse, Cycleco, Toos4env, IDEP and Renault.
