H2020 CPVMatch project launch
This three year « Horizon 2020 EU Programme for Research and Innovation » photovoltaic project on improvement of high concentrating photovoltaic (HCPV) efficiencies brings together a consortium of nine partners, mainly Small and Medium Enterprises and industries, along with several universities.
The main objective is to produce HCPV solar cells and modules working at a high concentration level with world record efficiency (the aim being to reach a 48% rate of efficiency), hence allowing practical performances to reach theoretical limits.
The ambition of this project is to make Europe a top leader in HCPV technology.
Key Enabling Technologies (KETs)
The project partners are:
Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) (Germany) as project leader.
In addition to ISE and Cycleco (which will be resonsible for the life cycle assessment side of the project), the project also involves the following organizations:
- Aixtron SE (Germany)
- ASSE S.r.l (Italy)
- Azur Space Solar Power GmbH (Germany)
- CEA – Laboratory for Innovation in New Energy Technologies and Nanomaterials (France)
- Fundación Tecnalia Research & Innovation (Spain)
- RSE – Power Generation Technologies and Materials (Italy)
- Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain)
Meeting with all partners – October 14th 2015 in Piacenza, Italy
