PEF T-shirts – Launch of the consultation on the available tests to quantify the lifetime of clothing
Within the frame of the development of the « T-shirt » PEF, a specific consultation is currently being conducted on the available tests to quantify the lifetime of clothing. The consultation period has begun and you have up to the 5th of December 2014 to submit your comments.
This consultation period is open to all stakeholders (distributors, producers, federations and Non-Governmental Organizations) that are interested in the development of the « T-shirt » PEF. The goal of this consultation is to identify the available tests to quantify the lifetime of clothing. The challenge of this consultation is to take into consideration a variable lifetime (different from one t-shirt to another) instead of a standard lifetime identical for all t-shirts, as it is actually the case.
Should you wish to join the consultation group (enterprises and especially SMEs), please contact us at textile(at)cycleco.eu.
The pilot is held by Promod, Decathlon, Devernois, Pimkie and La Redoute (retailers), Teintures et Apprêts Danjoux (TAD) and Les Tissages de Charlieu (LTC) (manufacturers), the Federal Office for the Environment in Switzerland (FOEN), the French Ministry for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy (MEDDE) and ADEME (French Environment and Energy Management Agency) (public authorities) and Cycleco (Life Cycle Assessment engineering firm and coordinator of the project).
