Inside iNSPiRe

iNSPiRe, the four year project funded by the European Commission is at the late stage and beginning to deliver prototype products and detailed monitoring data. Demonstration buildings where the iNSPiRe systemic energy retrofitting kits will be tested are well under way.
The project on renovation packages to reduce the primary energy consumption of old residential and tertiary buildings to less than 50 kWh/m2/year, brings together twenty-four European partners: BLL, SIKO, TRIP, UIBK (Austria), ACE, UIPI (Belgium), Cycleco (France), FhG-ISE, G&M, ICLEI, VAILL, WB-LB, ZAFH (Germany), EURAC, GIT, MANENS, UNIVE (Italy), ACCIONA, CARTIF, EMVS (Spain), BSRIA, IPL (United Kingdom), CCT and SERC (Sweden).
Cycleco, a French Life Cycle Assessment engineering consulting firm, is in charge of the assessment of the environmental impacts (energy consumption, climate change, impact on fresh water, human health …) and the global cost of the proposed renovation kits.
