Cycleco, a consulting office specialized in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), was a partner of the experiment described in the article. Cycleco has developed Spin IT, a web application for environmental labeling and eco-design of textile products.
After a year of experimentating with environmental labeling in France on a nationwide basis, Cycleco, in collaboration with the CEEI-Alimentec and five companies of the Rhône-Alpes region (Moulin Marion, Giraudet, Boiron Frères, Phil’XN and Langloys Traiteur), presented Food’Print, its software application for the Life Cycle Assessment of food products.
The [Avnir] Platform has created a collaborative resource center on which various Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools are available to be tested and manipulated. Among these tools are Cycleco’s applicative software programs.
After 2 years of work and exchange between textile companies, environmental labeling experts and government institutions, the Grenelle Environment Forum has led to the implementation of an experimental display of environmental labeling. For this nationwide experiment, the French Ministry of Environment has involved over 160 companies.
